Boyd Intermediate School Musicians Shine at PEAK Fest

Boyd Intermediate School Musicians at PEAK Fest

Five promising young musicians – Aya Blair, Jason Cabasso, Sofia Garcia, Kailey Kim and Aidan Tessier – from Elwood’s James H. Boyd Intermediate School participated in the Suffolk County Music Educators’ Association’s (SCMEA) 17th annual Parents, Educators and Kids (PEAK) Festival, held on Oct. 18 at Northport High School.

The PEAK Festival is a special countywide event for selected fourth graders, offering a full day of musical workshops and performances where students, parents and teachers make music together. The Boyd students were chosen for their effort, talent and enthusiasm, consistently demonstrated during weekly music classes and ensembles.

“Our students’ participation in this event made our music faculty and school proud,” Boyd music teacher Rachel Nagle said. “We look forward to seeing where they are headed musically and beyond.
