Principal's Message

Dear Boyd Families,

After serving as Principal at Harley Avenue for eight years, I am proud to now be in my fourth year at James H. Boyd Intermediate School. I am looking forward to getting to know our new friends while continuing to build the relationships with returning families and students.

At Boyd, our entire staff is dedicated to providing a positive and supportive learning environment where every child can thrive. While we follow a rigorous academic curriculum, we also celebrate diverse interests and learning styles by engaging students in meaningful and creative ways.

In addition to academics, we believe in educating the whole child. Our students have the opportunity to express themselves through writing, explore innovation in our Makerspace, and enjoy specials such as art, music, and library. Many choose to participate in Orchestra, Band, or Chorus, as well as in our wide range of after-school clubs. This year also marks the third year of our school musical, a tradition that continues to showcase our students’ incredible talents.

As our Mission Statement affirms, James H. Boyd Intermediate School strives to create a safe, supportive, and respectful community that nurtures growth and inspires children to discover their potential as active members of a democratic society.

I look forward to another successful year ahead. Thank you for entrusting us with your children each and every day—it is truly a privilege to be a part of their journey.
